Tabling at Festival Latino and Health Fair

The Kelley’s Landing team attended FLACA and the City of Lexington’s Festival Latino and Health Fair at Masterson Station Park on Saturday, November 9th.

We talked with participants in English and Spanish about the master plan and what they would like to see in the future park. Our station included information about the master plan and the project team, including The Fund for Greater Lexington, Lexington Parks and Recreation, Gresham Smith, Explore Kentucky, and CivicLex. We also conducted a voting activity for kids and adults to pick out what specific features and designs participants liked, as an in-person version of the Character Design Survey.

Participants at the Festival Latino and Health Fair also suggested new ideas that weren’t necessarily in the voting activity. Several participants suggested options for wildlife programming and education, including a wildlife center or classes about bird calls, wildlife, and local plants. We enjoyed our time at the fair and are excited to continue developing the plans for Kelley’s Landing Park!
